Context

Mercado Libre's vehicle financing runs on a B2B2C model: dealers close the sale while Mercado Libre provides the credit. Dealertool is the dealer-facing workspace for turning financing interest into closed deals — built inside the Mercado Libre account dealers already use every day.

The problem

Dealers managed financing proposals across fragmented tools, leading to duplicated work, slow responses, and lost opportunities in a high-volume B2B context.

Process & decisions

01

Meeting dealers where they already work

Instead of shipping yet another external tool, the vehicle-financing panel lives in the Mercado Libre account menu. Dealers reach their pipeline from the same place they manage sales — zero new logins, zero new habits to learn.

Access point: vehicle financing surfaced directly in the Mercado Libre account menu.

02

Designing the lead pipeline around urgency

The panel ranks interested buyers by heat: hot leads are flagged, each card shows the vehicle, the customer's credit pre-approval status and the financing simulation they ran — and a one-tap WhatsApp button starts the conversation while interest is fresh.

The leads panel: hot-lead flags, credit status, simulation context and instant WhatsApp contact.

The solution

I designed a centralized dashboard where dealers can track proposals, manage client documentation, and follow up on deals with clear status and actions.

Results

  • Centralized pipeline
  • Faster client response
  • Reduced manual work

The platform gives dealers control and visibility over the financing pipeline, reducing manual work and improving response time to clients.
